British rock icons Skunk Anansie roar back into action in 2025 at Good Times in Chipping Sodbury near Bristol. This show will usher in an exciting new era in the history of this legendary band, with new music also on the horizon.
Formed in London in 1994, Skunk Anansie instantly caught attention with their unique blend of alternative, rock, and punk influences, coupled with a dub sensibility which showcased their multi-cultural background.
Their outspoken lyrics tackling social and political issues, alongside vocalist Skin’s unapologetic queer sexuality and high-fashion aesthetic, meant that they became one of the most talked about and important bands of their generation and quickly led to global success.
With a string of critically acclaimed albums including ‘Paranoid & Sunburnt’, ‘Stoosh’, ‘Post Orgasmic Chill’ and ’25LIVE@25’ and hit singles such as ‘Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good)’, ‘Selling Jesus’, ‘Twisted (Everyday Hurts)’ and ‘Weak’, Skunk Anansie have sold millions of records around the world and headlined Glastonbury Festival in 1999. After a hiatus in the early 2000s, the band triumphantly reformed in 2009 and have continued to release new music and tour the world ever since.
Skunk Anansie are currently working on new music to follow the band’s acclaimed recent singles ‘Piggy’ and ‘This Means War’. Their return in 2025 will showcase exactly why, over 30 years since their first performances, Skunk Anansie are one of the most powerful and exciting bands on the planet – both as recording artists and live performers.
Vocalist Skin says, “We are really excited to getting back on tour, doing what we love the most which is playing live with fire in our belly. This tour will be a completely brand new production and we can’t wait to share it with the UK.”
REPUBLICA dominated the charts, radio, MTV, press, media, films, magazines and stages worldwide from the late 90’s with their iconic fiery frontwoman Saffron and their self dubbed ‘techno-pop, punk rock, electronica’ musical sound.
They were part of a new wave of strong female fronted bands during the Britpop era. Touring the UK, writing, recording, producing and mixing all their own songs, they were signed by legendary label De- Construction and by the Head of RCA in America. They toured the States relentlessly achieving huge success with their single ‘Ready To Go’ becoming a top ten US chart hit, appearing on the Conan O’Brien show and featuring in Rolling Stone magazine.
Returning to the UK and Europe where their debut album went Top 3, with appearances on Top of the Pops, TFi Friday, The Big Breakfast, This Morning etc. Headline slots followed at Glastonbury, V-Festival, Reading and Leeds, Phoenix Festival, T-In the Park, Roskilde, Rock Am Ring & Rock In Park, Pinkpop etc.
Achieving Multi Platinum sales of over 3 million albums globally, with No1’s in Mexico and Poland, Top 10s in UK, Spain, Russia, South America and the Eastern Bloc countries, they built up a huge live following with Saffron appearing in and on countless magazine covers including the Melody Maker cover four times.
Their anthemic hit singles ‘Ready To Go’ and ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ have appeared in over 300 films, adverts and TV series, becoming huge sports anthems. Legendary Horror movie director Wes Craven personally asked to use ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ in his movie ‘Scream’ which Republica played at the movie premiere in Hollywood. The song became and still is a huge gay anthem worldwide. Saffron has always supported the LBGTQ+ community headlining many Gay Prides every year.
